VIEW DAY 2026

View Day at Barts is traditionally on the second Wednesday in May. This year it is on 13 May 2026.

View Day is unlike the event many League members recall in the 1970s and 80s. Wards will not be on view. However, people still attend to meet up with friends and to see parts of the hospital. This guide will help those Barts League Nurses attending View Day in 2026.

NORTH WING
The North Wing and Museum will be open on View Day. However, it is likely to close early in the afternoon for a private reception so we advise visiting earlier in the day. You can plan your visit by checking out the North Wing website here. 

BARTS SQUARE
The hospital will have several stalls in and around the square and fountain. These include Barts League of Nurses and other charities linked to the hospital. Some clinical teams will also have stands. The Barts League stall will have details of how to become a member and will be selling memorabilia and souvenirs. BARTS LEAGUE TEA

The Barts League of Nurses will host a tea for league members from 2pm-4pm on View Day. Tickets (free to League members) will be available from the League stall in Barts Square. The tea is on a first come first served basis with limited seating. We look forward to League members joining us. 

BARTS THE GREAT

The League memorial books will be on view in the Church of St Bartholomew the Great on View Day. 

REFRESHMENTS

Within Barts Square there will be an ice cream van and teas served by the catering staff. Barts has a couple of coffee shops and a staff canteen on site. There are several places to eat around Barts. If you are a large reunion or group looking for lunch, we’d advise reserving your table at nearby restaurants and pubs to avoid disappointment.
