Remembrance Service at Barts 2023

A service was held on Friday 10th November, in the archway into the Square at Barts to mark Remembrance Day. The four walls of the archway mark the names of those who died in both World Wars, including one with the names of the nurses who lost their lives in World War 2.
Rev Julie Khovacs has just started as the Hospitaller at Barts and was joined by two colleagues from the Trust Hospital Chaplaincy Team.
Prayers of remembrance were said, and the two minutes silence was held after the bugler had played the last post. Wreaths were then laid by the Deputy Chief Executive, Justin Criegh and Helen Munday, Matron of the Barts Heart Centre. It was a short but very special service, and it felt important that Barts staff who had lost their lives were remembered in a solemn and dignified way.
Alison Knapp attended for the Barts League of Nurses and took the photos.
