Benevolent Funds
The Benevolent Funds are available to provide assistance not only to League members, but also to any nurse who has trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital, in accordance with the Constitution. The sub-committee which administers the Fund on behalf of the League is concerned to give assistance to those who are going through periods of hardship.
The Committee welcomes all applications and enquiries; all information is held in strict confidence within the Committee. The Committee is always glad to hear news of members and has the welfare of nurses who trained at St Bartholomew's at its heart. A countrywide network is being developed to facilitate local visits to colleagues who would appreciate this offer of support and friendship.
The Committee meets four times during the year, but urgent requests can be considered at any time.
To contact this Committee please write, marking envelopes "confidential", to:

Scholarship Funds
Three funds comprise the scholarship funds of the League:
- The Isla Stewart Memorial Fund,
- the Helen Baines Memorial Fund
- and the William Derrick Coltart Award.
All three funds serve to financially assist fully paid up members of the League with course fees and associated costs of study.
The William Derrick Coltart Award is specifically for sponsorship overseas. The funds are for nursing (as well as non-nursing) related study and conferences and all applications are considered.
A sub-committee administers the funds and meets four times a year to consider applications for assistance with funding. The sub-committee consists of eight League members, the President, Honorary Vice-President and Honorary Life Vice-President, in addition to an Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary. League members are urged to apply for funding.
An application form can be found in the League News or can be obtained by contacting the Honorary Secretary Scholarship Funds at the above address.
The Scholarship and Benevolent Funds Committees form a Registered Charity. Donations to these funds can be given using Gift Aid where appropriate. Forms for giving donations can be found in the League News or obtained from the relevant Honorary Secretary.
